I agree with Magalí, showing the beast's shadow makes almost anybosy who has not seen the film predict that the girl is going to be attacked by the Ourang Outang
I also think that the trailer is not completely suitable for the plot of the short story, though it is related in some way. Both deal with murders to be solved. In the film, the focus will not be on a detailed account of the investigation to reveal the murder's identity, but on how he is caught (the audience already knows who the murder is). The trailer then generates more suspense than curiosity.
It is not completely related but... it might be interesting.
